Description:

Guy Fawkes of the Gunpowder Plot, a man known for plotting the assassination of the English King by means of destroying the parliament. In 1604 was involved in a radical movement targeting the overthrow of the Royal Family. The plot consisted of digging a tunnel from an abandoned building to an undercroft located directly beneath the House of Lords. Through that tunnel they brought in 36 barrels of gunpowder, a force strong enough to turn the parliament and all the royalty within it to ashes. On the day of the Parliament’s opening the authorities received an anonymous letter warning of the plot. A few hours before the gunpowder was meant to explode, Guy Fawkes was caught guarding the stockpile. Convicted of high treason, he received a severe death penalty.

Nowadays Guy Fawkes exists in our minds as a symbol in light of revolution and justice against inequality. The mask reflecting Guy Fawkes’ face is sold across the globe and is used by many organizations, often wore during movements opposing the current flow of political events. But his legacy doesn’t end there. Today in the capital of Canada one of Guy Fawkes’ descendants lives on by the dream of his ancestor. His admiration and obsession over the gunpowder plot had him completely cut off from society. He operates a clock repair shop in near vicinity to the Canadian Parliament. History repeats itself as the Canadian authorities receive an anonymous letter stating that the parliament is in danger leaving nothing but one name behind: Fawkes.
